Good morning…
Before church on Sunday, my friend sent me this incredible documentary featuring first-hand footage of utter devastation in the North Carolina mountains. Entitled “HURRICANE HELENE: A Love Letter to Appalachia,” this touching tribute captivated all of me. I soaked in the sacred offering, pondering the power of our prayers being lifted, “sending vibrations and healing energy” into this place of immense pain.
The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together…every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don’t, the parts we see and the parts we don’t. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing (1 Corinthians 12:25-26a, MSG).
Might you also give yourself the gift of being captivated with compassion for our neighbors in Appalachia?
