Good morning…

Yesterday morning I blogged about A Dog And My Dad. Then in the afternoon, I opened the brown cardboard package that arrived on our doorstep. A loving book, pictured above, greeted me with aging-dog eyes. Awww. A golden retriever, so much like our deeply-missed Tate.

No card. Kind gift. No name. God, who is this from?

Later, I opened an email to find the mystery solved.

A dear friend wrote: I was filled with joy at the prospect of a new puppy in the Allen household. You are right about it requiring much more time and energy especially without the help of excited kids. I pray for your Dad and the procedures, testing and treatment ahead for him. Thankfully there are so many new and effective treatments for all stages of prostate cancer these days. We have several friends young and old who are presently battling it. I also pray for your Mom as her steady guy and care giver is facing his own medical issues.

God’s timing is truly the best. Something will arrive at your home today to help you during these continuing days. When I ordered it last week, I wished it had had next day delivery, but now I know the timing as always is in God’s hands— even at Amazon. Sending love and hugs, dear friend.

My generous friend is right. Timing, as always, is in God’s hands. That sentence matched another email I received yesterday.

Praying for your sweet Dad! I think of a quote as I read your post: “God is never early. God is never late. His timing is perfect. One day at a time.” XO

Amid many messages of encouragement (I truly appreciate each one), another email also highlighted the timing of God.

Oh, Sue, I am praying hard. Things change so fast — from good to bad…from sure to uncertain…from clear to confused. It happens for me every day — all day long and even in the middle of the night. I am so sorry that your sweet parents have more hard challenges. This means that you do, too. You always find a silver lining. This time in God’s timing. God is definitely leading, and you follow so well! I love you so.

Share love.

Lift prayers.

Trust God’s timing.

Morning by morning, I love learning important life lessons with you.

Love. Pray. Trust. Those who learn from the lessons of life will join the others who are wise (Proverbs 15:31, VOICE).

For every one of us, may it be so.

…Sue…

P.S. As we are waiting on God’s timing for our next dog, it was such a delight to dog-sit for an afternoon with my friend’s dog, Norma Jean. The picture on the right below looks so much like Tate looking out her window.

P.S.S. The cards and gifts others have sent are also so appreciated.
