Good morning…
“Hi Sue,” a friend wrote. “I thought you would like to see what some loving friends placed in the Johnson’s front yard yesterday. People are adding to it as they feel led to show their love for Kaitlyn and her family, share in their grief and hold on to the hope and promise of the Lord’s firm foundation that she so beautifully sang about a few weeks ago.”
As shared in yesterday’s blog post, Kaitlyn Johnson, age 23, passed away around 12:30 am on Thursday.
Then came more tragic news.
Just twelve hours later, another deeply loved woman of faith died around 12:30 pm on Thursday. The 12:30 repetition caught my attention, but in the presence of eternity clock-time fades to unimportant.

“Heartbroken for this family,” my husband Steve texted. “Sue Mitchell was the FCA breakfast team leader when I arrived at Lovett in 1995. I have such good memories of those early years and Sue’s commitment to the kids as well as her support of my ministry as chaplain.”
Over the coming days, I am certain that many in our community will freely exchange our favorite Sue Mitchell memories. Reaching out to share love with one of Sue’s daughter-in-laws, I received these words in reply: “Thank you! Prayers are welcome by all.”
Prayers.
Prayers are welcome.
Prayers are welcome by all.
On behalf of both of these grieving families, prayers are welcome by all. Together might we lift our heartfelt prayers and lean into the promise of Psalm 34:18? The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
…Sue…
