Good Morning…

As I told you, we were down to our last toilet paper roll, doling it out sparingly to make it to the morning shop.

After fighting “back to school” traffic to walk with my friend, I shared my drive to recalculate the toilet paper needed to cover the weekly women’s groups starting a new fall semester in our home. All in one hectic breath, I ran down the run down of my jam-packed day. After waking early to write our morning message, dropping our son at school, and traversing tons of traffic, I rushed to walk, teach Bible study at church, then swing by the store for toilet paper before welcoming women into my living room for our afternoon class. Hurried. Frantic. Overwhelmed. Clearly, my slower summertime schedule had shifted into autumn overdrive.

“Upstairs I have an unopened pack of toilet paper I just bought at the store,” my friend responded calmly. “I think it has your name on it.” So before tucking me in my car, she generously shared with me an eight pack to generously share with others.

Generosity sparks generosity, making our daily load much lighter. Will we humble our break-neck, push-through pace to give and receive God’s unexpected gifts today?

Live creatively, friends… Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed (or overwhelmed or living in fast motion). Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived (Galatians 6:2-3, MSG).
