Good morning…
“Oh Sue,” she wrote from Florida yesterday, “sending so many continued prayers for the loved ones of Elizabeth. So very heartbreaking. I just read Dr. Jim Denison, and the quote below struck a chord – we live a faith that says death is not the final answer, thank you Jesus. This truth is the hope and assurance for all those hurting in these very, very hard days.”

Joni Eareckson Tada, who has been a quadriplegic since a diving accident at the age of seventeen, says of God:
He has chosen not to heal me, but to hold me. The more intense the pain, the closer his embrace. The greatest good suffering can do for me is to increase my capacity for God. Real satisfaction comes not in understanding God’s motives, but in understanding his character, in trusting in his promises, and in leaning on him and resting in him as the Sovereign who knows what he is doing and does all things well.
Her faith in her Father has inspired multitudes to trust him with their suffering as well.
Why do you need him to “hold” you today?

“I know words are small comfort right now,” she concluded, “but hoping the family feels the power of prayer and so many standing in the gap for them.”
Our Sustainer promises, “When the earth and everyone living upon it spin into chaos, I am the One who stabilizes and supports…”(Psalm 75:3, VOICE). The more intense the pain, the closer his embrace.
Why do you need him to “hold” you today?
…Sue…
