Good morning…
Now that our kids are grown, I love generating joy with other children. This Halloween morning would feel so different for me without the fun memories made yesterday.
There are moments when I waste the time gifted to me. Selfish. Ho-hum. Disconnected. Our arts and crafts time on Monday afternoons feels like the very opposite. Lively. Generative. Connected to the core of God’s abundant love for all.
Having aged out of Halloween with our own grownup kids, I am grateful to have these precious PAWkids people seasoning my soul today. Love and laughter. Hugs and hope. Smiles and silly games. Prayers for our city run deep and wide, trickling out from my grateful heart, saturating the soil of groaning globe.
Let grain grow plentifully in this land of promise, let it sway in the breeze on the hilltops, let it grow strong… And may those who live in the city bloom and flourish just as the grass of the fields and meadows (Psalm 72:16, VOICE).
