Good morning…
Peace is a patchwork. Each and every day, we are designed to creatively fill in our part. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Jesus both agree.
“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality,” says King. “I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.”
“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family,” says Jesus in Matthew 5:9 (MSG).
When you survey your sphere of influence, where do you sense blank patches of deep need? With whom are you “painting in peace” during this season?
Together we lift a prayer. Lord, please help me to express your peaceful power.
