Last week in our therapeutic community group, we took a walk down the block to notice the various autumn trees. Black. White. Young. Old. Together as a diverse group we discussed the reading below.

Think about it. Really think about it. In your mind’s eye, what difficult person might you to turn into a tree right now? Appreciation changes everything.

Accepting “as is” the uniqueness of each person, we notice God’s abundant creativity. Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people! The variety is wonderful (1 Corinthians 12:4-8, MSG).
Might we quiet our judgmental mind to see through the accepting eyes of God?
