Good morning…
Yesterday afternoon, I spent quality time with a friend who grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She’s been to Annunciation Catholic School where this week’s school shooting took place. She described loving her hometown and the people with whom she grew up. One high school classmate, Mark Donicht, is now a published author who writes under the name Marc Allen. Following the tragic shooting, Marc shared these words on his Facebook page, paving our pathway forward.
*****
May I walk the path of love
May I find the love
that is always in my heart
And may that love grow and grow
to encompass the whole world,
the entire universe
Because it’s all created through love
May I walk the path of love
that is all I ever need
every moment of every day and night
May I walk the path of love
*****
Then last night, I caught an excerpt from the press conference given by the principal of Annunciation Catholic School, who shared gratitude for all of the prayers being lifted for their devastated community. He quoted an African proverb.
“When you pray, move your feet.”
Finding God’s love in our heart, that’s where we start. May that love gradually grow and grow, encompassing the whole world, the entire universe. Today when we pray, may we move our feet, walking the path of love.
Cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning, for on You do I lean and in You do I trust. Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my inner self to You (Psalm 143:8, AMPC).
