puppy

Good morning…

We each find our way with puppies and with people. Grounding ourselves with God, we each find our own way to feel, to form, to flourish. In yesterday’s post, Meet Our New Puppy, I shared about our horrible first night together and how we began to find our own way to a nurturing rhythm with God.

After the post a friend shared this encouragement. “’Following the lead’ of the young child is the hallmark of Montessori education and my heart smiled when I read about your second day and night with Cami. I credit moving from classic self-contained classroom education (which I loved) to Montessori learning and certification as the beginning of my closer walk with God and onto a new and unexpected path almost 20 years ago. Paying attention, listening deeply to another precious being, learning their heart language and accompanying them as they grow takes many forms…Enjoy another day of love and learning and pure joy with Cami!”

Another friend simply wrote: I love that you slept in the pen with her. Of course that calmed her down.

There are many ways that we symbolically “sleep in the pen” with our puppies and our people. Paying attention. Listening deeply. Learning their heart language. Accompanying them as they grow. Of course this calms them down and calms our own soul in the process.

Like I told you yesterday, our puppy’s name is Camino (Cami for short). Did you know that, in Spanish, Camino means way, path or journey?

Everyone benefits from our closer walk with God, as we find our way, journeying together onto the new and unexpected path ahead. You see, the Eternal sees our ways before Him. He watches every move we make and knows where those paths lead (Proverbs 5:21, VOICE).
