rainbow

Good morning…

“I just thought of you the moment I saw the rainbow❤” a midwife in Norway shared with me a photo she took from her home. “Wonderful how connections last despite time and distance!”

“So easy to nestle into the power of God when we experience moments like these,” I replied.

As we nestle into the power of God, prayerfully ponder with me these three questions:

  1. If you had to give this photo a title, what would it be?
  2. What feelings does this image wake up in you?
  3. If God were sending you a personal message through this photograph today, what might our living Lord be trying to say?

God continued, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and everything living around you and everyone living after you. I’m putting my rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth. From now on, when I form a cloud over the Earth and the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll remember my covenant between me and you and everything living, that never again will floodwaters destroy all life. When the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll see it and remember the eternal covenant between God and everything living, every last living creature on Earth” (Genesis 9:12-16, MSG).

It has been a very tumultuous week in many parts of our globe, yet as we read this rainbow on a sacred morn, we are tangibly reminded: God is with us. God is for us. God keeps with us an everlasting covenant for all generations to come.

…Sue…

P.S. After this morning’s post my friend who began this string of rainbow sightings from this week (see How To Increase Your Joy) shared with me another peaceful rainbow photo.

“Last full day at the beach and a passing squall with another partial rainbow,” she wrote. “God knows we need to be reminded of his presence, his covenants and promises with the world groaning with turmoil and suffering. How blessed we are and blessed to be able to pray for those who are experiencing hardships.”
