Good morning…

As I send the Spirit’s stirrings in yesterday’s post, Listening To Learn, God’s mysterious voice echos back. “In Less Than Fifteen Minutes,” is the title of her early morning poem immediately received by my inbox.

Much like me, Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer writes in sync with the song of the bird. Where God’s divine guidance through me ends, the Spirit’s wisdom through Rosemerry begins.

As easy as stepping out the door,
this chance to drop the self who does,
the self who walls and calendars and phones,
the self who dishes and bills and desks
and become the self that becomes —
become whispering field and bright
squawking jay and full silence rising
mid squawks.

As easy as stepping outside with our dogs at dawn, we drop the self that does to become the self that becomes. This sacred exchange takes much less than fifteen minutes. Moment by moment. Again and again. Forever and ever and ever.

And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We’re free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him (2 Corinthians 3:18, MSG).
