Good morning…
A truckload of immigrants die in the heat. Loved ones are buried after mass shootings. Wars rage on and on, devastating ordinary lives. These are big newsworthy aches which beg for our prayers. Alongside our communal pain are quieter, daily challenges. Depression. Disabilities. Dementia. Divorce. Death.
We all face various aches throughout our lifetime. Aches we would never choose. Aches in ourselves and aches for loved ones and strangers. Aches we would erase if we had any power. Yet in spite of deep aches, we rise every day. With God’s love coursing through our veins, we rise up unafraid.
This week I happened upon an inspiring music video. It took me a little while to get the gist of the silent story, but once my insight dawned, the beauty I witnessed soothed my soul.
Love is patient, love is kind (1 Corinthians 13:4a, NIV).
