Good morning…

Many of you in our online community have enjoyed the chapel services created by my husband, Steve, who is the chaplain at a local high school. Usually the Upper School students cram into a packed chapel and experience a weekly service in person, but COVID has limited large gatherings indoors. Instead Steve records his weekly faith messages online, and the kids and teachers watch and discuss them together in their advisory groups. This morning the students and faculty will gather ’round to experience the message below.

This Advent season, as we prepare for Christ’s presence to be born in us anew, what top three gifts might you ask for if you met on Santa’s lap…top?

We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment (Colossians 1:15-18a, MSG).
