Good morning…

Making space and taking time for Sabbath is our weekly ritual. As we savor this Sabbath, we cut from the fast, crowded pace of the world and we remember this life-giving truth: we are designed to live in harmony with our Creator, with our True Self, and with each person we meet, day after day. To remind us of our true self-in-Christ, what slow steps has God led us through this week as we have waltzed around life’s dance floor?

Monday: Creating our own shared harmony, we find a sanctuary, a refuge, a haven in the storm, as we patiently wait with God through the dark nights of our soul.

Tuesday: Now consciously aware of her healing gift, I will remember rosemary more often, sticking sprigs into hand-cut flowers, tucking a sprig into a handwritten note, silently saying to a struggling soul, “God and I will be your sanctuary until you can carry on.”

Wednesday: May I use our email exchange anonymously to offer a glimpse of how God so creatively blossoms joy in our sorrow?

Thursday: Her framed saying reminds: “If I make time for God, if I make space for God, God will make time and space for everything else.”

Friday: I love visualizing this one verse as two ancient, permanent pegs. Might everything in our everyday life hang from one peg or the other?

Saturday: Experiencing spiritual transformation, our “before” and our “after” is stunning. We are each a work of art created and recreated by the God of the universe.

“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16, MSG).
