Good morning…
After a long, laboring string of rainy dark days, the sun peaked out to pierce the pane of our living room window. As I nestle into the corner of our couch, I close my eyes and turn my face directly into the sun. Intense light penetrates me. Illuminating warmth soothes my cheeks. My baking brain surrenders again to the Father/Son/Spirit.
I turn my body away from the sun’s burning stream, and my closed eyes see the darker shades of subtle support. Freedom from intensity now melts my shoulders. Resting in relief, I sense “The risen Son has my back.” God’s life-giving gift is the rhythmic renewal of dark and light, day and night.
I breathe in a deep breath before letting it go. “God, thank You for being the same yesterday, today, and forever as I bask in freedom, turning toward then away within Your generous gaze.” In unison we gracefully slow dance through the contrasts of life.
But every good endowment that we possess and every complete gift that we have received must come from above, from the Father of all lights, with whom there is never the slightest variation or shadow of inconsistency. By his own wish he made us his own sons (dynamic dance partners) through the Word of truth that we might be, so to speak, the first specimens of his new creation (James 1:17-18, PHILLIPS).
