But first, right now, in the waking hours of this Sabbath morn, I share with you the YouTube link a friend from North Carolina texted me this week. Enjoy this uplifting medley performed from the home of some talented young singers. May these songs become our personal prayer:
“O Come, please come, Emmanuel.
God be with us, still, again, anew.
Come, thou long expected Jesus, by Thine own eternal Spirit rule in all our hearts alone.”
Mary said, “With all my heart I glorify the Lord!
In the depths of who I am I rejoice in God my savior.
He has looked with favor on the low status of his servant.
Look! From now on, everyone will consider me highly favored
because the mighty one has done great things for me.
Holy is his name.
He shows mercy to everyone,
from one generation to the next,
who honors him as God.
He has shown strength with his arm.
He has scattered those with arrogant thoughts and proud inclinations.
He has pulled the powerful down from their thrones
and lifted up the lowly” (Luke 1:46-52, CEB).
There are so many creative ways to connect to the living Christ during this worldwide pandemic. Please choose your best way to enjoy the songs of this sacred season. Jesus’ birth reminds us all that God’s will is being done on earth just as it flourishes forever in heaven.
