Good morning…
As I finished off my Spiritual Direction paper due by midnight last night, I was drawn back to this quote.
“We have been raised from the dull sphere of mere mind and matter into the heavenly radiance of the spirit world; and now, as spiritual (beings), we discern spiritual things, we feel the forces which are paramount in the spirit-realm, and we know that there is a Holy Ghost, for we feel him operating upon our spirits.” – C.H. Spurgeon
What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words (1 Corinthians 2:12-13, NIV).
I am grateful for radiant, Spirit-taught authors who help us to discern and to feel, to know and to understand the Holy Spirit operating on our spirits.
