hope

Good morning…

“God’s surround sound again,” she texted me early yesterday. “I awoke praying for all those who are in the midst of personal struggles and now moving to our world and it’s chaos. Was feeling the call to find and hold onto Hope–to not despair–and then I opened your email, How To Live With Hope.

“May the God of grace–and peace and love–help us to be that beacon of Hope for those who are struggling and for our hurting world,” she concluded.

“I love that God’s surround sound holds us close even from states away,” I replied. “Yes, hope instead of despair. Focusing on the person instead of the problem. Loving deeply instead of solving quickly. God is giving us some very important anchors during a choppy, challenging time for so many of us.”

And that’s not all. We also celebrate in seasons of suffering because we know that when we suffer we develop endurance, which shapes our characters. When our characters are refined, we learn what it means to hope and anticipate God’s goodness. And hope will never fail to satisfy our deepest need because the Holy Spirit that was given to us has flooded our hearts with God’s love (Romans 5:3-5, VOICE).
