God had you in mind on April 30, 1988. When my pen left its first mark on a blank journal page, these are the words formed by my twenty-five year old fingers.
“Being aware and attentive to feelings, thoughts, inklings is very important to me. For if I don’t know my inner world, I won’t be able to share it with you. And if I don’t share what I have been given, one of God’s precious gifts will have been left unopened, wasted. So I share on these pages my inner world, with me and with you.”
Who braves their way into a first journal with a future audience in mind? Most of us cringe at the thought of someone-other-than-God ever reading our deepest and darkest. Could it be that the LORD has been calling my pen since way back then?
Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love, Ephesians 1:4 (MSG).
