Good morning…
I am taking the night time shift of prayer on the behalf of my friend undergoing surgery in the morning. With her family accompanying her to Washington D.C. to support her through this leg of her cancer journey, her daughter posted a beautiful, heartfelt list of specific requests.
“Some of you have asked for specific things to meditate on and pray for during our trip, so I’ve got a few for you. Please pray for Mom to get a restful night’s sleep. Pray that her PJs are cozy and her pillows are soft. Pray that she dreams peaceful and uplifting dreams. Pray that she knows how much we all love and support her. Pray that she can feel how proud we are of her for so many things, including her strength and bravery. Pray that she knows that her daughter looks up to her more than anyone else in the world. Pray that she has the energy to just keep going in the face of incredible adversity. Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and love.”
Love takes many different forms. This prayer of a daughter for her mother is one of the most gorgeous. I echo these specific requests, laying them gently on the lap of our LORD.
…God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love… Psalm 66:19-20 (NLT),
