Good morning…
In our minds, we have rehearsed the final details of our son’s wedding weekend, again and again. One week from today, we will host a festive dinner the night before the big day. Food and drink. Connection and conversation. Toasts will bring to life the uniqueness of this awesome couple. We look forward to a fun-filled evening in the upper room at Poogan’s Courtyard in Charleston, South Carolina.
Between now and then, there are lots of boxes to check, many details to master, last minute things to accomplish. Up in the middle of the night, my to-do list expands and worries well up to whisper: “We have just one shot at wonderful.”
Long and deep, I breathe intentionally. Feeling drawn to flip through a book of poems, I am calmed by two stanzas from Ceremonies by Judy Brown.
Long and deep, I intentionally breathe now, pulling time down into the center of all being. We descend the sacred staircase into the waltz of life.
God’s love.
Inner circle friends.
The blossoming of family.
Long and deep, I intentionally breathe right now. Spirit of the living God, please knit our hearts together as we celebrate soulful passage through this special week. Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! (Philippians 4:4a, MSG).
