Good morning…
“If God wants to teach you something new,” one wise friend says, “God takes you on a trip.” My soul instinctively nods her head.
Walking ten to fifteen miles a day, traveling the sacred Camino De Santiago in Spain last fall, certainly taught me a ton. I learned about the steady inner peace found when stretched beyond my normal limits. I contemplated new insights gleaned from the meaningful devotional messages given by my husband Steve, our trusted trip leader. I breathed in the creative variety of the gorgeous landscape, bonded with God while strolling through periods of silence, and exchanged fascinating stories with the thirteen people in our group, strangers who quickly became dear friends.
I also loved traveling with Steve to Israel with two different groups of interesting people, in 2022 and 2023. How grateful we all felt to explore the holy land where Jesus walked, passionately taught, and actually spent his earthly days. Nothing beats experiential learning, especially when it comes to our faith. Lightbulbs go off, day after day, as life-changing connections are made.
Might you enjoy exploring the adventures Steve has planned for us 2025, as he steps deeper into his new role as Director of Lovett Expeditions? All adults from anywhere are welcome to join in these journeys.
July 5th – 15th. Marvel at God’s fertile creation in Ecuador at Siempre Verde, Lovett’s rain cloud property, and explore the Galapagos Islands
August 29th – September 5th. Ascend to the 15th-century Inca citadel, Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world located in southern Peru
October 7th – 16th. Return again to Sarria, Spain to begin another pilgrimage on the Camino, ending with two pampering days in Porto, Portugal
There is so much experiential learning God wants to instigate. For some of us, it might involve traveling to a new place with a spirited group of people. For others, maybe not. I absolutely loved our Camino experience last year, and, at the same time, I was content to stay home during Steve’s trek with a group up Mount Kilimanjaro. This year, I sense the Spirit coaxing me toward joining Steve’s exploration of the Galapagos Islands and being guided through Greece following the travels of Paul.
Now I simply must ask, “Might God be wanting to teach you something new by taking you on a trip?”
Whatever answer we each discern, following God’s lead is key for every single one of us. Those who stand in awe of the Eternal — who follow wherever He leads, committed in their hearts — experience His blessings! (Psalm 128:1, VOICE).
