Good morning…
Interactive. One of the best things about our written word ministry is her interactive nature. I prayerfully listen for God’s subtle movement. I sense a fresh smidgen of Holy Spirit wisdom. With God I craft a morning message, then I press “send” to reach out to you. You read and receive at your convenience. You prayerfully ponder, putting new truth into practice, spreading God’s Spirit into your corner of the world. If the LORD nudges, sometimes you emailing me back, inviting a private, peaceful exchange. We each rely on Holy Spirit power to face what we are facing, sensing together God’s guidance day by day.
“Testimonials,” my web designer encouraged me. “You need personal testimonials telling of how God is using your unique spiritual gifts to impact the world.”
Since you and I enjoy an interactive ministry, this summer I emailed to ask, “In what ways has God blessed you through my books or my daily blog, my teaching or my role as spiritual director?”
I was humbled by the responses cascading into my inbox. Some of you I am privileged to know very well. Others I will not meet until we embrace in heaven. All of you who responded shared generous, life-giving words. Though I reached out to you personally, expressing my gratitude, I also want to publicly honor your beautiful expressions by including your comments anonymously at the bottom of each website page.
Through …Sue To You… through …You To The World… our contagious gratitude for God is interactive.
I’m speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it’s important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him (Romans 12:3, MSG).
