When a friend from our Friday group sent the quote and image above, we collectively embraced the eternal truth.
“Hearts united in pain and sorrow will not be separated by joy and happiness,” says Khalil Gibran. “Bonds that are woven in sadness are stronger than the ties of joy and pleasure. Love that is washed by tears will remain eternally pure and beautiful.”
Pain. Sorrow. Sadness. Tears. If given the option, we would never choose these experiences. Yet, our hearts are inseparably united and our bonds are woven stronger as we face the excruciating moments in life together. Joy. Pleasure. Happiness. These will come and go, but they will not separate our deeply united hearts.
Then the Lord said… I will come down and talk to you… I will take some of the Spirit that is upon you, and I will put the Spirit upon them also. They will bear the burden of the people along with you, so you will not have to carry it alone (Numbers 11:16-17, NLT).
