Good morning…
Yesterday in Sunday School, we unpacked the middle portion of the Apostles Creed. Considering the various valley times in our lives, we processed the three portions of our life-changing “check mark” experiences. Descending into hell. Waiting in the tomb for three grueling days. Ascending high into heaven in oneness with God. Each time tragedy strikes, this three-step “check mark” process can help us move from death’s dark valley up the muddy mountainside to enjoy again life’s breathtaking peaks.
- SINK – After the unthinkable happens, just like Jesus we sink “down into hell.”
- STAY – We actively stay in our transformative cocoon, focusing our attention in 25 to 30 second increments on God’s truth, on life’s beauty, on our own growing gratitude.
- SIT – When the time is right we will gradually rise, ascending to experience heaven on earth, resting in oneness we are lifted to sit on the large lap of our LORD.
On our powerless part, it requires only surrender to sink, to stay, to sit. All of our healing power is gifted to us by God. Humble yourselves, then, under God’s mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time (1 Peter 5:6, GNT).
