Good morning…
Many of us could relate to yesterday’s post, I’ve Broken A Lot. We are all gloriously, terribly broken, and oh, it’s so beautiful to see it, the love in everything.
“We are all so blessed that God doesn’t leave us in our broken state🙏🏻♥️,” quickly came the first response.
A few minutes later, another reader wrote: “Dearest Sue….love this….and you’re brokenness makes you so very beautiful sweet friend…authentic, vulnerable, genuine, kind, thoughtful, generous, compassionate, gentle, forgiving….so many gifts come when “things fall apart” don’t they? Reminds me of the words in that little image I sent you awhile back: “God will take you where you haven’t intended to go in order to produce in you what you could not achieve on your own. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s grace.”
Moments later came another response, an email picking up on the word grace.
“I just stumbled upon this quote,” a longtime subscriber wrote. “It’s so good – It’s all grace: Trust God for gracious enabling, and he gets the glory when the help comes. We get the help. He gets the glory. That’s why Christian living, not just Christian conversion, is good news.”
Then finally, in less than one hour, another tenderhearted person wrote: “Love the blog this morning. Was feeling a bit lonely in my sadness. Yesterday was a hard day and it gives me a hope that God will fill us up. Love you and thank you.”
“Over time, God will fill up our empty places,” I replied. “Feeling the broken emptiness allows us to experience the filling up of God. I’m grateful God is teaching us similar lessons at the same time. Sending love and patience and grace as we wait for the power of the Holy Spirit to thicken within.”
Jesus replied, “My Father decides when things will happen in the world. You do not need to know the day or the time when this will happen. But the Holy Spirit will come to you, and he will give you power. The Holy Spirit will make your spirit strong. Then you will tell other people everywhere in the world about me” (Acts 1:7-8a, EASY).
Trust God for gracious enabling. We get the help. God gets the glory. This is good news.
…Sue…
