Good morning…
I crossed my legs and closed my eyes as she privately read aloud to me an excerpt from Nan Merrill’s paraphrase of Psalm 106.
******
May we become bearers of joy,
we who are invited to share in
the Cosmic Dance!
We pray for the gift of wisdom,
that the motivations of our heart
might be made pure,
That we may recognize the perfect
timing of all things
and know the seasons of
the heart.
May we walk with faith all the days
of our life—
confident in your Living Presence
even in times of trouble,
and with assurance for what is
and all that is to be;
May we have faith in the unfolding of our lives, and
radical trust in the universe. (Psalms for Praying: An Invitation to Wholeness)

May we learn radical trust. The word “trust” drew me back to a soulful stanza from the song companioning me: “Working in our waiting, You are sanctifying us. From beyond our understanding, You’re teaching us to trust.”
Then she joined me, cross-legged and closed-eyed, as I opened yesterday’s blog post and played for both of us Michael W. Smith’s song Sovereign Over Us. After the gorgeous music faded, I opened my eyes and softly said, “Grief is part of a joy-filled life.” Seamlessly she flipped over my words, “We uncover joy in the grief-filled years.”
You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy (1 Peter 1:8, NLT).
As God works in our waiting, may we become bearers of inexpressible joy.
…Sue…
P.S. If you want to revisit this gorgeous song, cross your legs and close your eyes, allowing our invisible God to sings into your soul, “Please learn to trust Me.”
