tate

Good morning…

“Thinking about you and holding you and Tate in my heart,” wrote my friend on one random morning. “I bet she is playing with my Watson. I love you.”

What a sweet reminder. We talk about our loved ones in heaven all the time. And they somehow sense our constant connection.

This reminder helps me with missing Tate, with missing Audrey, with missing all my loved ones who have gone before. This truth helps me as I think of all those who have lost children, friends, and family members in the devastating flash floods in Texas over the 4th of July weekend. This awareness helps me trust more deeply in the eternal nature of each person and pet. So our bodies return to the earth, and the life-giving breath returns to God (Ecclesiastes 12:7, CEV).

Between earth and heaven, somehow our spirits stay bonded forever. May all who are grieving gain comfort of our precious, lasting connections.
