Good morning…

I write short because I can not read long. If I lose my own attention after 500 words, many of you will also check out before I place my final period. If God wanted me to be a writer of brief daily devotionals, the LORD was wise to lace my brain with a short reading attention span.

Too many of us view innate differences a curse, for ourselves or for our loved ones. But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?'” Romans 9:20 (NIV).

What joy lives on the other side of fully accepting ourselves as God designed us. Trusting that we are made just as we are for God’s eternal purposes, we can say “Thank You for my learning difference, my emotional sensitivity, and my life experiences.” “Thank You, God, for my body type, my personality, and my brain chemistry.” “Thank You for the flawed family into which I was born and the flawed family I am helping to raise.” We grow in new ways when we redefine our “weakness” as an “opportunity to show off God’s strength.”

We are like clay jars in which this treasure is stored. The real power comes from God and not from us,
