Good morning…

“Blessings to you for daily messages that are life changing,” she wrote after Revisiting Our Favorite Posts.

“Sue – I am a creature of habit,” a friend emailed. “I read your post every morning and love your daily messages. I have two to suggest to repeat this summer…”

“Truly, ALL your messages are my favorites and special gifts each day!” responded another faithful subscriber. “These are just a few I have forwarded to friends…”

“Dear Sue – Your words regularly reach me in my darker place,” she revealed. “I have been through a lot of valleys and a couple mountaintops this year. Thank you for your daily reminder to sit, listen, and hold on to God as he walks with us.”

“Gosh, there really are soooo many messages I have loved this year,” another friend wrote. “What really blows me away and really ultimately comforts me – is the timing of each post. God speaks personally to me on many and most of the days that you post them.”

“Good morning! I saved these in my ‘Blessings File,'” she wrote to give me her list of her favorites. “I went to review Unmasking Our Opponent and the link says, ‘Oops. No Longer Available.'” I wrote her back immediately, “Thank you so much for your response. Don’t you think it’s funny our opponent is hiding, subtly masked again? I love being bonded in this deep, daily way.”

“My favorite post will always be The Velveteen Rabbit message,” a good friend wrote. “It came to me as I sat in my father’s hospital room, watching him peacefully rest as his body wore out. I stroked his almost bald head as I read to him about how he was so loved almost all his fur had been rubbed off. All the hurt he felt over the years was because he loved so deeply and so well – and was loved back. I prayed that God would send angels to escort him to his heavenly home – and when our prayer ended, the heart monitor went to zero. He was already home and we were left with a hole here on earth. I miss him so, but am comforted to know that he is well and I will join him one day. Your devotion came at the exact time I needed it – and was the basis for the eulogy I delivered for my dad a few days later. It is amazing how God orchestrates the people in our lives to give us the peace and love and support we need when we need it – we just need to be open to how God’s love may come in many colorful and creative ways.”

As I recently told all of you, I truly resonate with Henri Nouwen’s words: “It is my vocation to speak and to write from that place (at home in God and God at home in me) back into the many places of my own and other people’s restless lives.” What an amazing mystery to witness God’s heartbeat rippling through our everyday blog, pumping new life into your heart and mine at the very same time.

Your prayers are powerful when they are rooted in a righteous life (James 5:16b, VOICE).

…Sue…
