Good morning…

I was rushing out of Kroger when I looked up to see a toddler strapped into her grocery cart, staring right at me. When our eyes met, a smile spread from her wide-eyed lips to engulf her whole entire body. “You give a smile to everyone! Don’t you?” I beamed back. “Everyone gets a smile.”

Though this little person had not read her Bible, she was living the words of Jesus: “These children are the kingdom’s pride and joy. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in,” Luke 18:16b-17 (MSG). To me, to “get in” means to “get it.” We are living the words Jesus taught us to pray: “Father, Your kingdom has come, staring right at us. LORD, Your will is being done, spreading from our wide-eyed lips, engulfing our whole entire body… on earth as it is in heaven,” Matthew 6:10 (NIV).

Living the simplicity of God’s heaven on earth, may it be said of us: “You give a smile to everyone! Don’t you? Everyone gets a smile,”
