beach-tide

Good morning…

As an online community, we traveled different paths leading up to Christmas morn. Some signed up for the daily Advent devotional I wrote for our church, “With God Weather Life.” Some chose not to subscribe to receive our morning messages. Along with these online posts, some enjoyed a hard copy of the material, a soft small printed version which included black and white pictures of my beautiful broken shells along with a few added words of soulful encouragement.

Being reunited with each other with God this Sabbath morning, let us slowly savor the prayer living at the end of our tiny cream colored book.

Leave me alone with God as much as may be.
As the tide draws the waters close in upon the shore,
Make me an island, set apart,
alone with you, God, holy to you.

Then with the turning of the tide
prepare me to carry your presence to the busy world beyond,
the world that rushes in on me
till the waters come again and fold me back to you. – Prayer of Saint Aidan of Lindisfarne

As we are reunited in our shared morning messages, might we ebb back, touching on the “Past Blog Posts” button below, before we flow freely forward into all God has planned?

So I plan to be around awhile, companion to you as your growth and joy in this life of trusting God continues (Philippians 1:25, MSG).
