Good morning…

“Life wins,” she said quietly. We watched green, vibrant growth crawling all over a fallen tree. Walking the trail at the Ignatius House Retreat Center, we noticed other tangible evidence of God’s undeniable truth. “Life wins.”

We admired a tiny, tenacious fungus bursting from the center of another decaying tree. “Life wins.”

waterfall

We marveled at a magnificent waterfall. Right before our eyes, the unstoppable power was widening, reshaping, expanding the babbling beauty. “Life wins.”

Then just beyond the waterfall, we saw a striking symbol of the most life-giving miracle of all. We were greeted by a stone statue of the risen Christ emerging alive from the rocky tomb. “Life wins.”

Now as the power of our risen Lord gradually rises up in us, the Giver of life boldly wins again.

So no wonder we don’t give up. For even though our outer person gradually wears out, our inner being is renewed every single day (2 Corinthians 4:16, TPT).

P.S. Please consider joining me for a two-night women’s retreat at Ignatius House on December 3rd-5th as we prepare our hearts for the Advent season. Directed by Sr. Susan Arcaro, r.c., we will use the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola and Stations of the Crib by Joseph Nassal as our resources. We will journey with hope and expectation to the manger in Bethlehem. Experience the wonder of God’s everyday love in a new way through imaginative prayer and reflection as you prepare for the coming of Emmanuel.
