Good morning…

“The whole person is involved when we give thanks from our hearts,” says Br. David Steindl-Rast. As I wake early this Thanksgiving morn, my heart is saturated with gratitude.

I am grateful for small, simple pleasures – a furry blanket and cozy socks that hug my feet just right.

I am grateful for my husband and our home, our two dogs and our four kids, who will feast together today.

I am grateful for soul friends who create for me a tangible nest of God’s loving presence.

I am grateful for two-way street veins of prayer which keep us constantly connected, loved ones near and far.

I am grateful for life-giving memories from last weekend’s trip to Ohio to visit my mom, my dad, my siblings.

I am grateful for you prayer warriors, who have supported my mom through her fall, her stroke, her I.C.U. miracle.

I am grateful to share an updated photo with you; my mom’s radiant smile beams with her immeasurable “Thanks!”

Now it’s your turn.

Getting your whole self involved, if you were to give thanks right now, what five or six things might top your gratitude list? What photos might you include in a blog post celebrating the life that is yours to live?

Let people thank and enjoy you. Let all people thank and enjoy you. Earth, display your exuberance! You mark us with blessing, O God, our God. You mark us with blessing, O God. Earth’s four corners—honor him! (Psalm 67:5-7, MSG).
