Good morning…
“Make prayer your first response instead of your last resort,” a friend shared a quote she had read somewhere.
There are so many different forms of prayer. Laying in bed and letting our worries fall into the hands of God. Prayers sent up like arrows to heaven. “LORD, help me.” “Please guide me.” “God, thank you so much.” Silent prayers, sitting, kneeling, walking. Collective prayers lifted together or apart. Prayers written in our journals. Dancing, painting, singing – these can be prayer. Prayers prayed aloud at home or at church. Gratefully breathing in the beauty of nature – that’s prayer. All forms of prayer grow our conversational relationship with God. Day and night. Night and day.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 encourages us boldly in various translations.
CEB – Pray continually.
CJB – Pray regularly.
DRA – Pray without ceasing.
ERV – Never stop praying.
EASY – Pray at all times.
HCSB – Pray constantly.
ISV – Continually be prayerful.
TLB – Always keep on praying.
However we feel drawn to pray amid the myriad challenges of life, might we make prayer our first response?
