bath

Good morning…

“Hi Sue,” a longtime friend wrote to me this week.

“Your blog about The Coffee Cup Analogy reminds me of something I heard on the radio years ago. The doctor (a psychologist, I believe) said your brain is like a bathtub, and genetics plays a role in the size of bathtub you have. When we encounter challenges and stress, our bathtub fills and can overflow. Our job is to make sure our bathtub drains well. Whether it be time in prayer and solitude or time spent with a good friend, counseling, a walk or run etc…, we are responsible to do what we can to position ourselves so our bathtub drains. I believe God, along with the inner working of the Holy Spirit, does the unclogging. I like this idea of the coffee cup, as I spill mine frequently! Thank you for listening well to share with us ❤️.”

He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously. God’s gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives. And there’s more life to come—an eternity of life! (Titus 3:5-7, MSG).
