Good morning…

Palm Sunday began in the light of a plump full moon. Celebratory. Hopeful. Hallelujah.

As we walk our way through this Holy Week, moonlight quietly wanes away. As darkness blankets the outside world, lingering light seeps inside our walls.

Before resurrection power rises up in us, we all must face our darkest hour.

“As I look into the long, deep, dark cave in the rock and see the body of Jesus carried into that darkness, I want to enter with him and let all my selfish needs and desires, all my violence, resentments, lusts, and petty jealousies be put there, never to be taken up again,” writes Henri Nouwen. “I pray for hope, for courage, and, most of all, for trust that the darkness is simply a tunnel and not a final destination.”

A light that thrives in the depths of darkness, blazes through murky bottoms. It cannot and will not be quenched (John 1:5, VOICE).
