Good morning…

On Saturday morning, I received an email describing how each of us might become a beacon of hope in our Atlanta community. LaTonya Gates, the Founder and Director of PAWkids, reached out to me with this opportunity.

Hey Fam 💛

I need y’all in a big way.

PAWKids has been given an incredible opportunity to win a $30,000 grant from Same House—but we need your help to make it happen! Voting starts June 29 and runs daily through July 13.

ATLANTA, we say proximity matters, and this is one of those moments where it truly counts. PAWKids is a reflection of what it looks like when we show up—not just for ourselves, but for each other.

I’m asking you to:
1. Vote daily (I’ll send the link!)
2. Spread the love—ask 5 of your people to vote daily too
3. Post and share—I’ve attached a flyer you can use to help spread the word to your friends and family

Thank you for being my tribe. Let’s bring this home—for ATL, for PAWKids, and for the legacy we’re building together.

With love and gratitude,
LaTonya

As most of you know, a group of us from our Women’s Ministry at Northside Church lead art activities and play therapy opportunities for the students in the PAWkids Afterschool Enrichment program on Monday afternoons during the school year. We are leaning into this important truth: proximity matters. Being together in authentic relationship, week after week, makes a huge difference in each of our lives.

Now you can join us in making a difference by casting one vote each day for PAWkids from now until July 13th. Spread the word and share this link with your friends and family, as we all become beacons of light in our interconnected community.

Do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God], so that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish in the midst of a [morally] crooked and [spiritually] perverted generation, among whom you are seen as bright lights [beacons shining out clearly] in the world [of darkness] (Philippians 2:14-15, AMP).

P.S. The photos in this post show an art project we made one Monday afternoon this spring.

P.S. We all live in the Same House, so enjoy this inspirational video highlighting this grassroots movement in our city: https://thesamehouse.org/actions/pledge/
