trust

Good morning…

After yesterday’s post, Our Remedy For Fear, one reader wrote: “Man, what a great message! I have shared it around. God ripples. I also read Psalm 31 this morning. The praise and then the vent at verse ten but then back to praise.”

Instinctively, she chose a single sentence from our blog and jotted it on a cream colored post-it note.

“I’ve put it on my counter today!” she said.

Trust not

in what

you can control

but who

God is.

In the VOICE translation of Psalm 31, verses 13 exposes our fear: “Terror is everywhere!”

Then verses 14 and 15 respond: But I pour my trust into You, Eternal One. I’m glad to say, “You are my God!” I give the moments of my life over to You, Eternal One (Psalm 31:14-15a, VOICE).

Sometimes it feels like terror is everywhere, and so much in life we cannot control. Yet we always possess the power to pour our trust into who God is. In gratitude, we can continue to give over the moments of our life: “You are my God!”
