Good morning…

Happy New Year!

There is no better way to recognize new phases of growth than to remember where we were while celebrating where we are. Two photos, set side by side, tell the story of natural, unstoppable growth. One is from October; the other was taken last night just after the ball dropped in Time Square.

The first was taken the day Cami rode home with me in a cardboard box. The second is Cami’s growing body sprawled out on our bed, with pictures in the background of our 12 year old dog Gracie, our four kids (now grown and gone from our home), and our old golden retriever Tate, who we put down in June.

As time passes, nothing but God remains the same.

“O Lord, in the beginning you made the earth, and your hands made the sky. These things will disappear, but you will stay. They will all wear out like old clothes. You will fold them up like a coat, and they will be changed like clothes. But you never change, and your life will never end” (Hebrews 1:10-12, ERV).

As we pass through new phases of growth in 2026, it is important to remember to ground ourselves daily in the unending life of God.
