Good morning…
Since our two years of training ended in 2017, four of us spiritual directors meet monthly by phone for peer supervision. We live in different states and see one another very rarely, but our two hour conversations are some of my favorite moments every month.
This month the person facilitating read aloud an opening prayer written by Ted Loder. Listening intently, we were hooked by different phrases. Before our fertile phone call ended, our friend read the words again, slowly, slowly, slowly.
As you begin your day, might you listen to yourself reading this prayer out loud?

The key is that your request be anchored by your single-minded commitment to God. Those who depend only on their own judgment are like those lost on the seas, carried away by any wave or picked up by any wind (James 1:6, VOICE).
Trapped in the tomb of my own timidity, Lord, please find me and free me into the power of your presence.
