Good morning…
This summer, our Northside Church family is making 200 bagged lunches on Mondays and 200 bagged lunches on Wednesdays and taking them to PAWkids to share with our friends in the Grove Park neighborhood. For three Mondays in a row, I have joined in the fun, tangibly connecting with my two favorite non-profit organizations.

During the same period of time, I have been touched by images repeated in a commercial promoting a movement called “Giving 4th”.
The AI description reads: “‘Giving 4th’ is a national charitable giving initiative launched by America250 to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday by establishing a new Independence Day tradition of generosity. The campaign encourages Americans to take a pledge and donate to a nonprofit of their choice, aiming to combat the mid-year “summer slump” in charitable giving. The commercials and public service announcements feature the tagline: ‘Giving isn’t what we do. It’s who we are. Imagine what could happen if we all gave at the same time.'”
Might Psalm 112:9 (NLT) aptly describe who we are? They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor.
Just imagine what could happen if we all gave at the same time!
…Sue…
P.S. Enjoy watching the official “Giving 4th” video. As we recognize tons of creative ways to improve the lives of the people around us, may we all be inspired to give generously.
