Good morning…
On our way to becoming who we really are, consider today’s centering questions:
- At the groggy beginning of the day, how might this day change you?
- How might you describe the corners of your life, sharper or rounded off?
- Sharper or rounded off, how does this feel to you and to others?
A friend texted this week, “I love the saying, ‘The easy choice now makes life hard, but the hard choice now makes life easy.'” Somehow I think this wisdom guides our process of becoming.
After all, I am filled to the brim with words, and my gut reaction is to speak. My insides are like fresh wine sealed up and needing to breathe. Like a new wineskin, I am on the brink of bursting from the pressure (Job 32:18-19, VOICE).
Sometimes speaking is easy, but the blabber of too many words can make life hard. Sometimes speaking is hard, but honest expression can make life easy.
Sometimes staying silent is easy, but living a facade makes life hard. Sometimes staying silent is hard, but privately processing with God makes life easy.
Dear God, will the words I speak today be sharper or rounded off?
