Good morning…
As we gathered in the Northside Church chapel last night, we experienced the thin veil between the seen and the unseen. “Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever,” explains 1 Corinthians 15:42b (NLT). The sacred chapel space was filled with the inviting harmonies of The Threshold Choir and the soft voice of Susan Patterson, founder of Gifts from the End, where the end of life becomes a starting point.
To prepare to write a letter to a loved one who has died, we pondered three centering questions.
What is hidden in your heart that needs to be voiced?
Is this a one-way communication? Does it matter?
Is the idea of forming a new relationship with your loved one comforting? Overwhelming? Strange?
In the quiet of the chapel, we tapped into our sixth sense, our intuition, our intermediary, God’s Holy Spirit in our hearts. Before we took thirty minutes to privately handcraft our letters, we watched the video below, entitled A Dinner With Dad.
What stirs in your heart as you watch a new form of relationship developing between this daughter and her dad?
…Sue…
