Good morning…

From Canada she sent a nurturing nugget.

I must say, “Personally I am wading through the uncomfortable waters of unfamiliarity.”

Seeing footage of people carrying long guns in the chaos of American streets. My heart slowly growing awareness of the unequal treatment of people of color and the ugly shades of ongoing injustice. Policemen, most who conscientiously dedicate their lives for the good of our communities, are being shot and sometimes killed just because they wear the uniform. Political banter always fuels the fall fires, but the destructive rage feels more intense than I have experienced before.

So it’s true, “Personally I am wading through the uncomfortable waters of unfamiliarity.”

“Dive deep into God’s rest and healing,” encourages the calming quote above. Take your sail out of the conflict-riddled winds of the world and wait for the ever present winds of God’s grace to pick up. People of color are invited to rest and heal. Policemen and gun carriers are invited to rest and heal. Uncomfortable people like me who are wading in unfamiliarity are invited to rest and heal.

We are all invited to rest and heal.

This is what the Almighty Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: You can be saved by returning to me. You can have rest. You can be strong by being quiet and by trusting me. But you don’t want that (Isaiah 30:15, GW).

I guess this is where the rubber meets this bumpy, unfamiliar stretch of road. We each must ask ourselves, “Rest and heal. Quiet and trust. Returning to God for saving power. Do I really want to do that?”

If I say, “no,” I am choosing the world’s ways, not God’s ways.

If I say, “yes,” I will rest and heal, quiet and trust. In returning to God, I will experience saving power.

I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert (Isaiah 43:19, TPT).

Today, will you join me in saying “yes” to the inner voice of Love?

…Sue…
