taste

Good morning…

This baffled woman surrounded by a wide variety of delicious possibilities represents the way I feel the morning after my fun filled birthday: “I don’t remember the name, but it had a taste that I liked.” I couldn’t possibly name all of the nuanced ways God’s love pours through you to me yesterday. Just like a rich, robust bottle of wine, the small hints of unique flavors blended beautifully into one boundless birthday blessing. Simple joys and prayer-laced sorrows flowed through and mingled down. My one of a kind day offered a taste that I really liked.

Thank you to all who said, who sang, who wrote “Happy birthday!” in your own unique way. Blending into a delicious whole, you all enlivened my 59th birthday with a taste I really, really, really liked.

This morning after a full night’s sleep, I express my grateful heart. You need to know, friends, that thanking God over and over for you is not only a pleasure; it’s a must (2 Thessalonians 1:3, MSG). I love the taste of God’s rich, robust Spirit being poured out so generously among us!
