Good morning…
“I am completely convinced that God is a fan of life’s messy,” I found myself texting a friend yesterday. “Think childbirth. Think artist’s studio. Think crucifixion. We are the ones who crave neat, straight, controllable order.”
In the middle of the night my mind wanders to add to my list. Might God be in all of these messy places? Politics. Gardening. Baking with children. Finances. Opposing opinions. The floor of a forest. Relationships. Finger painting. Every single closet in our home.
But you, when you pray, enter your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly (Matthew 6:6, MEV).
I sense God saying, “Go into your private mess. Shut your door. Pray with Me in secret. I see you. I hear you. I love you, all of you. As you step back into the open, I will clothe you with My powerful presence.”
And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” (Exodus 33:14, NKJV).
