Good morning…

On our plane ride home I watched “Up”, the 2009 computer-animated film produced by Pixar. One favorite movie clip sums up the lasting love we each hope for in our lifetime. This series of scenes reminds me of my husband and I as we enjoy the empty-nesting phase of life. It also spurs hope for our four young adult kids who are seeking to find their own lifetime soulmates. I admire my 91-year-old mother-in-law, who is living a full life of love in Pennsylvania with her husband in heaven. And I smile at the thought of my own parents in Ohio, living the twilight years of their love story, now happily home in their villa together, supported daily by a kind caregiver, thankful that my mom’s broken femur is healed enough to regain her strength through physical therapy.

As you enjoy this touching movie clip, of what joys and sorrows of lifetime love are you tenderly reminded?

With every sun’s rising, surprise us with Your love, satisfy us with Your kindness. Then we will sing with joy and celebrate every day we are alive (Psalm 90:14, VOICE).
