Good morning…

After our shared silence, she read aloud a poem. Deeply. Slowly. Gently. In this sacred moment, might we each read out loud? Deeply. Slowly. Gently.

something unnamed
is being called forth
in the depths

it has the familiar sound
of an Abraham
and the quiet certainty
of a sunrise

it has the movement
of geese surging
past a season
of trees surrendering
to another snowfall
or another leafing

something unnamed
keeps calling
beckoning
rooting
growing

something unnamed
asks for surrender
vulnerability
given-over-ness
abandonment
powerlessness

ah yes
the truth takes time
to be named
and even more time
to be accepted

Amid the unrest of this tumultuous time, something unnamed is being called forth from our depths.

Beckoning.

Rooting.

Growing.

Enduring truth takes time to be named. “Ah yes” is forming gradually.

Once named, God’s truth takes even more time to ripen into our full acceptance. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you (John 8:32b, MSG).
